SUMMER SCHOOL “Sustainable farming and food systems in the EU law and policy framework” - 2023
The interdisciplinary Summer School “Sustainable farming and food systems in the EU law and policy framework” will be held from 24th to 28th July 2023 in hybrid mode, for a total amount of 40 hours training.
The Course will provide participants with an understanding of the European legal and policy framework of sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural and food systems within an interdisciplinary learning context. In particular, the political and legal implications of the transformative approach adopted by the EU (e.g., with the European Green Deal, the Farm to Fork strategy, the new CAP 2023-2027) will be thoroughly analyzed during the Summer School.
The course will also deal with the series of complex European and global challenges facing the European food system. These include climate change and environmental degradation, inequalities in the food supply chain, and food security concerns caused by the war in Ukraine. The language of instruction is English, and a final assessment test is foreseen at the end of the course, in the form of a multiple-choice questionnaire.
